My work can be grouped into 3 categories: Strategic Design, Product Design, and work with Technology. As these largely overlap the majority of my project fall into multiple of these categories and all feature a technological aspect.

Wires Glasses has been Co-Founded by Yair Neuman and Lilly Cole to offer a more sustainable, approach to eyewear. Wires Glasses is a company that merges high end fashion with state of the art technology. Wires are designed to be manufactured with minimal waste.

My role within Wires was leading Research and Development and contribution to the design process. My key involvement was the implementation of the an agile supply chain utilising novel manufacturing technologies. I was involved in the curation of the Wires brand story, optimising ergonomic fit and prototyping new designs, finding solutions to existing design challenges, assessing environmental footprint, and identifying technological opportunities.

What I find particularly exciting is the implementation of 3D printing technology in the supply chain which enabled fast, short production run, manufacture. This allows for new designs to go from drawing board, to shop floor within a couple of weeks as opposed to the traditional several months, avoiding long lead-time and giving the company the ability to remain agile and rapidly adapt to customer demand.

Fit
It was my task to re-construct the frame from the ground up, improving the fit for a whole spectrum of wearers, at the same time maintaining the core essence of the design. All the surrounding images are photos of physical prototypes tested with users.
