I can never remember the names of people I just meet... so wouldn't it be convenient if I had a pair of glasses that could show me the name of whoever I am talking to?

This was the inspiration for this project, but more importantly it is an excuse to experiment with a couple of different technologies that I wanted to get my hands on for a while:

Augmented Reality, Heads Up Displays, and Computer Vision.

The headset is designed as a platform running programs written in python and OpenCV, to enable detection of people or objects.

The custom built hardware then projects/superimposes images or text onto the lens (field of view) enabling a host of interactive functionality. Basic example: The system identifies faces in its field of view, placing markers around them and tracking them as they move.
