My work can be grouped into 3 categories: Strategic Design, Product Design, and work with Technology. As these largely overlap the majority of my project fall into multiple of these categories and all feature a technological aspect.

Phenix Space is a Science and Technology program for refugee children who don’t have access to formal education.

The finale of the programme is a launch of a CubeSat satellite with an interactive art installation on board. The installation will allow people to write messages and then see them displayed in space, via a video feed. The project is designed to attract media attention and broaden the conversation around the issue, and motivate the pupils to shoot for the stars.

As the technology lead at Phoenix Space i am leading the development of the CubeSat as well as bringing together partners and collaborators to get it off the ground.

Once the CubeSat is designed and the pupils complete the STEM program, they will learn how to code specific aspects of the satellite payload, contributing to the on-board art installation.
As the satellite launch is scheduled to take place next year, we are designing and testing subsystems. The first being a camera module which will be going up on a high altitude balloon on the week of the 9th of March.

We are collaborating with Open Cosmos through their Call to Orbit program, designed to facilitate space missions for ambitious projects. They are a key partner in developing the CubeSat hardware.
The satellite payload will feature cameras for earth observation and an interactive art installation, which will be accessible through the Phoenix Space App
